The Ship Project Editor (SPE) is a powerful and easy to use data entry tool to define a ship for HECSALV, HECSDS and related analysis tools. Ship Project Editor is software designed to quickly navigate, enter, and evaluate data required for the analysis of ships and other floating marine structures. Once developed, these models can be used by other programs in the HECSALV software suite to evaluate intact stability, damaged stability, and other properties.

Ship Project Editor is organized around the concept of a Ship Project. A Ship Project includes the definition of the ship particulars, ship properties, hull and compartment geometry, default load configuration, tank and hull tables, and evaluation criteria. A single file with a .SHP file extension is used to store the data.
